BobaScout Terms of Service

Effective date: September 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Asian Digital Mind LLC ("we", "us"), which runs BobaScout. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use BobaScout.

Who can use BobaScout

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
  • You need an Apple or Google account to sign in. Keep it secure. You're responsible for what happens on your BobaScout account.
  • One person per account. Don't pretend to be someone else.

What BobaScout is

BobaScout helps you find boba and tea shops, check in with a photo, and review drinks. Users are called Scouts. The app, its design, and its content (other than what Scouts post) belong to us.

Your content

"Your content" means your username, profile photo, check-in photos, reviews, comments, and suggestions.

  • You own your content. You keep all your rights in it.
  • You give us permission to use it in BobaScout. That means a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, resize, display, and share your content in BobaScout and on our own pages that promote BobaScout. This lets us run the service. For example, we can show your public check-ins to other Scouts and make small versions of your photos.
  • The license ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies may stay in backups for a short time, as our Privacy Policy explains. Shops and drinks you suggested may stay in the catalog without your name.
  • Check-ins and reviews are public unless you mark a check-in "Only me". Reviews written without a check-in are always public.

Rules for Scouts

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. When you use BobaScout:

  • Post only your own photos. Take check-in photos yourself, in the app. Your profile photo must be one you have the right to use.
  • Be honest. Review drinks you actually tried. Don't post fake reviews, or reviews you were paid or rewarded for. Don't review your own shop or a competitor's.
  • Be kind. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or personal attacks.
  • Keep it clean. No nudity, sexual content, violence, or illegal content.
  • Respect privacy. Don't post other people's personal information. Avoid photos where strangers are the focus.
  • No spam. No ads, promotions, links, or repeated posts.
  • Don't cheat or break things. Don't fake your location, scrape the app, use bots, or try to get around security or limits.
  • Follow the law, including the rights of others such as copyright.

Reporting and moderation

  • You can report a check-in, review, Scout, shop, or drink from inside the app, with an optional note.
  • We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours.
  • We may remove content, hide it, or limit or close accounts that break these rules or the law. We may do this without notice. We don't have to monitor everything, and we aren't responsible for what Scouts post.
  • If you think we made a mistake, email us.

Shop information and third-party links

  • Shop details, hours, menus, photos, and ratings come from our team, other Scouts, and public sources. They may be wrong or out of date. Check with the shop before you go, especially about hours and allergens.
  • Ratings and reviews are Scouts' opinions, not ours.
  • "Order online" links open other companies' services, such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, or a shop's own website. We don't run those services. We aren't part of your order, and their terms and prices apply. Directions open Apple Maps.
  • BobaScout isn't affiliated with the shops listed, unless we say so.

Ending your account

  • You can delete your account at any time: Profile → Settings → Delete account.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering BobaScout.
  • The sections on your content license (for backups), disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law still apply after your account ends.

Changes to BobaScout and to these terms

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date at the top. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using BobaScout after that, you accept the new terms.

Disclaimers

BobaScout is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will always work, be error-free, or be secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. We also aren't liable for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill.
  • We aren't liable for what other Scouts post or do, for shop information, or for third-party services such as delivery apps.
  • Our total liability for any claim about BobaScout is limited to US $100.

Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees.

Governing law

California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Orange County, California. You and we both agree to those courts. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to fix the problem informally.

Apple

You downloaded BobaScout from Apple's App Store, so these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Apple's App Store terms also apply.

Everything else

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement about BobaScout.
